Apple Shoots Itself in the Foot

Details here; I think that this will pretty well assure that developers will prefer Android/Chrome OS.

P.S. Ironically, I appreciate Apple's thumbs down to Flash, because I hope it hastens Flash's demise in favor of an open standard.

I expect that, as usual, Apple has something up its sleeve about an app better than flash. Should definitely come out with something in the next year. Yay! Flash is like a bastard stepchild sometimes.

I've read claims that Apple wants applications to be bound to the i{Pad, Phone, etc.} API the way so many desktop computer applications are bound to the Windows API. The existence of portable layers atop which applications can live threatens that the way Netscape and Java threatened Windows, i.e. tearing down the "applications barrier to entry".
