...and I know it's partly my fault. RL gets busy, it gets to be far too easy to put off going there--but I will be forever grateful for the many friends I made there and at Big'Uns's previous locations.
I hope the rose I placed there is not too much of a bother.
(If you don't recognize the Night Gallery reference, track it down and watch. It'll rip your heart out and stomp that sucker flat.)

You are a dear, Melissa. But no, Mammatus closing was no one's fault at all.
The fact is that I simply could no longer afford the $400USD/mo out of pocket that it was costing. At no point did I attempt to make money with the sim. That, perhaps, would have prolonged its existence but I believe it would have also not supported the atmosphere and culture that I wanted.
I am very happy to know that I played a small part in helping a very fun and loving community in Second Life to grow and flourish. Many other places for the 'scene' have now grown up throughout the metaverse, so not too much is lost I hope.
That you left the gesture of the rose behind is rather touching, and I'm sorry I did not get to come around during the final days of the sim. Work forbid me from having much free time.
